 This event is to celebrate hardworking individuals bringing us the best stories. Bremerton by the Book is an author festival put on by Ballast Book Company specifically to celebrate Independent Authors (those who self-publish or otherwise non-traditionally publish books). “Volume One” refers to 2026 being the first year of this event. Enjoy a keynote author talk by Olivia Waite, a live jazz band performance kick off, and author readings or Q&A’s all day. Each author will have at least one self-published title that they have poured their passion into making it the best it can be, and many will have more than one title! There will be at least 23 authors in attendance who are so excited to help you find your next read.
 We will be at the Silverdale, East Bremerton, and Port Orchard Goodwill locations on an ongoing basis a couple Saturdays a month. Come by between 10am and 6pm to say hi and get your thrift on!

If you have questions, contact Cathy Hulet.  Food trucks are descending on Quincy Square and we get to set up our booth while folks mingle around eating lunch.
Some dates coincide with the First Friday Art Walk and hours are extended those days. Assuming the weather cooperates, we’ll be out there on October 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, and November 7th.  We’ve started to set up some tables at Valholl Brewing in Poulsbo on Wednesdays from 4-8pm. They only have room for 2 or 3 people at a time. Come to a meeting to learn more about participating in this new and exciting recurring event!
